Finding happiness isn’t always as easy said as done. Finding ways to be happy can be as simple as varying your routine. Sometimes we can sit and think of something that fascinated you or that you like and imagine yourself there.
Whether it’s out in nature or being the star of the show, you determine your happiness. It’s not always easy and may take some practice. Here’s a few simple steps to get you started in the right direction.
Smiling: can have a lot of beneficial effects. It releases “good” endorphins into your system thereby changing your mood. It makes us more attractive. If you look good then you feel good is the theory. It also diminishes stress.
Hugs: They can elevate serotonin levels thereby elevating mood. They can strengthen the immune system. Hugs can inspire trust and safety. They can boost oxytocin levels which can diminish loneliness and anger. Hugs relax muscles and boost self esteem.
Laughter: A good laugh can boost the immune system by increasing the number of antibody fighting cells. It can reduce stress inducing hormones like cortisol, adrenaline, and dopamine. It’s a great distraction and beneficial too! It creates a positive attitude.
So in summery laugh a lot, give plenty of hugs and start smiling!
